Opinion and Thought



Opinion
 Opinion is including the words of opinion and argument/ reasons.

Asking Opinion  or Giving Opinion
  • In my opinion.....
  • I think.....
  • What I mean is.....
  • Personally I think.....
  • In my experience.....
  • According to me.....
  • I strongly believe that.....
  • As far as I am concerned.....
  • From my point of view.....
  • As I understand.....
  • As I see it.....
  • I reckon.....
  • I am compelled to say.....
  • By this I mean.....
  • To my mind.....
  • Would like to point out that.....
  • In my humble opinion.....

Agreeing with an Opinion
  • Of course.
  • This is absolutely right.
  • I agree with this opinion.
  • I couldn't agree more.
  • I agree with what you are saying.
  • I agree, I never thought of that.
  • Neither do I.
  • That's a good point.
  • I think so too.

Disagreeing with an opinion
  • I am sorry, I don't agree with you.
  • I am not sure I agree with you.
  • I don't agree with you.
  • I am afraid I have to disagree with you.
  • I do not believe that.
  • By this I mean.....
  • I disagree with you.
  • I think you are wrong.
  • That's not the same thing at all.
  • It is not justified to say so.
  • I am not convinced that.....
  • I can't say I agree with this, and here's why.....

This is an example of dialogue :


Dio:Fitrah, what do you think is the best solution to reduce air pollution?

Fitrah: I think everything must be changed in a new style.

Dio: what do you mean?

Fitrah: yes, we must do something to reduce this air pollution.

Dio: What advice can you do to reduce this pollution?

Fitrah: reducing public transportation, not smoking carelessly, and recycling waste that can be recycled so as not to be burned.

Dio: That’s a great idea. I will do that.








Thought


The use of Thought in



Example of Thought in Simple Paste Tense 
  1. I thought He sent a letter last morning.
  2. My mother tought I cooked fried rice for dinner.
  3. I thought They were at the school library yesterdat aftenoon.
  4. He thought I was arrived last nigtat home.
  5. I can’t believe my boyfriend did something I thought he wouldn’t.
  6. We never thought his would happen.
Example of Thought in Perfect Tense :
  1. I thought you have bought a new car.
  2. My mother thought my sister has started a new job this week.
  3. She has thought about getting much money when she only worked as a waiter.
  4. My friend hasn’t tought I can do it.
  5. I thought Doni has gone to the bookstore.
  6. I thought my student’s have improved their English.
Example of Thought as a Noun :
  1. I can’t get rid of the thought of afraid him.
  2. After this incident he could not stop Thought about it.
  3. When the night comes, it’s getting harder to avoid this sleepy thought.
  4. Everyone has their own thought for their future.
  5. Although we are different but we have the same thought
This is an example of dialouge:

Dio: "Hi, what are you doing John?"
Fitrah: "Oh, just thinking about activities that I should do after this, could you help me?"
Dio: "Of course, with pleasure. So, what can I help you?"
Fitrah: "Help me think about what I've just said."
Dio: "Ok. Hmm, you like reading books, right? Maybe you can go to the Oklahoma Library."
Fitrah: "Great idea, thank you very much.”
